Francis Dennis Hibbert (1906-1975) was educated at Denstone College; Bloxham School; and St John's College, Cambridge. In 1929 he joined the Education Department in Nigeria as Superintendent of Education. During the Second World War he served with the Nigeria Regiment (1940-1945); he rejoined the Education Department in Nigeria in 1946. During the 1950s, Hibbert worked in the Northern Region of Nigeria where he held the posts of Chief Education Officer (1951)...
